Dumarao, Capiz- This year’s World Water Day celebration marked the blessing of "Bito" (Water Source), one of the Capiz Archdiocesan Social Action Center (CASAC) projects in Barangay Janguslob, March 22.
CASAC Director Rev. Fr. Mark Q. Granflor led the benediction of the said spring, a project under Water Sanitation and Hygiene sector of #REACHPhilippines Program. It was attended by the community together with Barangay Water and Sanitation Association (BAWASA).
In line with the celebration, CASAC WASH team conducted a short program regarding the importance of water in their community and how to maintain the Water Piped System Project for the betterment of every residents living therein.
CASAC wants the community to realize the sacrifices everyone has contributed in order to make the project possible. Its wish is for them to take good care of it because it is not just a gift from CASAC, it is a blessing from God. Moreover, it prays that the community will be united so that the project could benefit more people.
On the other hand, students also enjoyed the question and answer activity that focused on the hygiene promotion that aims to lessen the incidence of poor sanitation practices and conditions that pose an utmost risk to their health.
They performed proper hand washing, tooth brushing and other good sanitation and hygiene practices. Afterwards, hygiene kits were distributed to them.
