"The Liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed and the font from which all her power flows." (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 10).
The Commission on Sacred Liturgy of the Archdiocese of Capiz envisions that all the Catholic faithful in the Archdiocese can be immensely enriched by "active, conscious and full participation" in the sacred liturgy according to the norms of Sacrosanctum Concilium, Vatican II.
To build up unceasingly the Catholic faithful in the Archdiocese through the liturgical celebrations "making of them a holy temple of the Lord, a dwelling-place for God in the Spirit, to the mature measure of the fullness of Christ." (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 2);
To advocate Pope John XIII's conciliar principle of "aggiornamento" with the mission to evangelize the local Church that sojourns in contemporary times;
To adhere to the discipline of Sacrosanctum Concilium, 28 that "in liturgical celebrations, each person, minister or lay who has an office to perform, should carry out all and only those parts that pertain to their office by the nature of the rite and the norms of the liturgy;"
To pray that our Catholic faithful will continue to yield abundant fruit in the Archdiocese, for the glory of God and their sanctification.
